We’re sponsored by CADMIM, the Center for Advanced Design and Manufacturing of Integrated Microfluidics. Our project goal is to develop a modular microfluidic platform that can separate the droplet generation portion from the detection analysis portion of the device. Our device will have the ability to produce a greater volume of droplets per collection chip, which can be removed and analyzed as another chip is loaded and begins collecting droplets in its place. This will allow for less skilled technicians to perform more specialized analysis. It will also minimize waste and maximize efficiency to reduce the overall cost of droplet-based microfluidics.
